What Mochicut does
Old digicams shoot in old formats: JPG photos and AVI videos that take up far more space than the compression modern iPhones use — for the same quality. Tidying them by hand means previewing one by one, rotating sideways shots, converting videos with some converter, and dragging everything in — every single time. Mochicut folds all of that into one flow, on your Mac or right on your iPhone.
How it works
- Import: Pick your SD card (on iPhone, plug it in with a card reader) or a folder and Mochicut brings the media in. The card is only ever read while you work. On iPhone you can choose to delete sent items from the card after a send — nothing is deleted without asking.
- Look through & tidy: Everything sits in one grid. Open anything fullscreen, flip through, and play videos right in the app. Sideways shots get straightened, and near-duplicate bursts are grouped so you can keep just the best one.
- Convert: Photos become HEIC and videos become HEVC (.mov). They're the formats your iPhone uses, so the files get smaller. Keep the original shot date, or stamp them with today.
- Send to Photos: Everything lands in the Photos app, in the right spot on your timeline, and iCloud backs it up like it does everything else. Temp files are cleared automatically.
A few more things it handles
- Auto-straighten: Some digital cameras have no tilt sensor, so they can't tell portrait from landscape. Mochicut uses AI to figure out which way is up and straightens these photos, right on your device, not on a server. It rotates the actual pixels, so photos stay upright in every app.
- Best-shot picks: Mochicut groups the look-alikes and suggests the keeper.
- Originals stay untouched: Mochicut works on a copy and never modifies your SD card on its own. Deleting sent items happens only when you ask (iPhone).

Mochicut is free on both platforms — the whole flow is yours. Mochicut Pro is a one-time purchase, and each platform sells its own:

옛날 디카는 옛날 포맷으로 찍혀요. JPG 사진과 AVI 영상은 요즘 아이폰이 쓰는 압축 방식과 달라서, 화질에 비해 용량이 훨씬 커요. 손으로 정리하려면 한 장씩 미리보고, 누운 사진 돌리고, 영상은 따로 변환하고, 전부 끌어다 넣고… 이걸 매번 반복해야 해요. 모찌컷은 이 과정들을 맥에서도, 아이폰 안에서도 하나의 흐름으로 묶어놨어요.
이렇게 흘러가요
- 가져오기: SD카드(아이폰에서는 카드리더로 연결)나 폴더를 고르면 모찌컷이 미디어 파일을 가져와요. 카드는 읽기만 해요. 아이폰에서는 보내고 나서 보낸 항목을 카드에서 지우도록 선택할 수 있어요. 허락 없이 지우는 일은 없어요.
- 보기 · 손질: 모든 사진과 영상이 한 그리드에 모여요. 크게 열어 넘겨볼 수 있고, 영상도 앱 안에서 바로 재생돼요. 누운 사진은 세우고, 비슷하게 찍힌 연사는 묶어서 베스트만 남길 수 있어요.
- 변환: 사진은 HEIC로, 영상은 HEVC(.mov)로 바꿔요. 아이폰이 쓰는 포맷이라 용량이 줄어요. 촬영한 날짜를 그대로 살릴지, 오늘 날짜로 넣을지 고를 수 있어요.
- 사진 앱으로: 결과물이 사진 앱 타임라인의 제자리에 들어가고, 아이클라우드 백업은 평소처럼 알아서 돼요. 임시 파일은 자동으로 지워져요.
이런 것도 챙겨요
- 자동으로 세우기: 디지털카메라 중에는 기울기 센서가 없어서 사진의 가로세로 방향을 구분하지 못하는 경우가 있어요. 모찌컷은 이런 사진을 AI로 판단해 똑바로 세워줘요. 서버가 아니라 기기 안에서요. 픽셀 자체를 돌려서 어떤 앱에서 열어도 항상 똑바로 보여요.
- 베스트샷 추천: 비슷한 사진끼리 묶어서 제일 잘 나온 한 장을 추천해줘요.
- 원본은 그대로: 모찌컷은 사본으로만 작업해요. 카드를 스스로 수정하거나 지우는 일은 없고, 보낸 항목 삭제는 직접 요청할 때만 해요(아이폰).
- 기기 안에서만: 사진과 영상은 기기 밖으로 나가지 않아요. 인터넷은 맥에서는 라이선스 확인할 때, 무료 아이폰 앱에서는 보내기 전 광고에 써요. 자세한 내용은 개인정보 처리방침에서 확인할 수 있어요.

무료와 Pro
모찌컷은 두 플랫폼 모두 무료예요. 받으면 흐름 전부를 쓸 수 있어요. Mochicut Pro는 일회성 구매인데, 플랫폼마다 따로 팔아요.
- 맥에서는 Pro($5.99)가 추가 기능을 열어줘요. 14일 이내 환불 보장. 결제하면 라이선스 키가 이메일로 오고, 앱에 입력하면 바로 열려요. 키와 영수증은 구매 내역에 있어요.
